St Olivers Primary School Captains Arthur Sadek and Rhiannon Costello meet Bill Shorten and Julie Owens
Students and parents at St Oliver’s Primary, Harris Park welcomed the Leader of the Opposition and Federal Member for Maribyrnong, Bill Shorten MP and Federal Member for Parramatta, Julie Owens MP on 11 June.
Mr Shorten was visiting the electorate and met with parents and school community members to discuss their concerns.
School captains Rhiannon Costello and Arthur Sadek spoke with Mr Shorten asking him if he would promise to fund schools.
Principal Anthony McElhone said that 97 percent of the students at St Oliver's have English as a second language and represent 29 cultures.
"We are proud of our diverse school community and were pleased so many parents turned out to meet the MP's,' said Anthony.
'Our stage 3 students have been studying the role of government and were excited to meet Mr Shorten and Miss Owens.'

Unfortunately, the Stage 2 Boys and Girls Soccer Gala Day has been cancelled this Wednesday due to rain and wet fields. It is postponed until Term 3. A new date has not been set yet.
